Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

MATRIA also has a level-III NICU with a dedicated team of neonatologists and trained nurses on call to handle premature deliveries and other emergencies. The NICU is an ultramodern facility with monitoring units; open and closed incubators; ventilators; analyzers to assist in ventilatory management; digital syringe and infusion pumps; piped medical gases and suction; an intensive care unit; and a breast-feeding room.

Although the Paediatricians can solve most of the health problems of new born, a Neonatologist is trained specifically to handle the most complex and high-risk pregnancies. Along with Ob and Gyns, the Neonatologist will be involved in the child birth either normal or caesarian deliveries.

Neonatologist is a medical doctor who has had at least 4 years of experience after graduating from Medical school and 3 years of special training in new born intensive care and will be registered under Indian Medical Council.
